Mary Ann Aronsohn, along with a colleague, developed and teaches a course for parents who are parenting from different households. The course, CHANNELS Of Understanding, focuses on parents in difficult situations, in order to teach them to work together more smoothly and to handle conflict with integrity. "The course sets up experiences for these parents to practice establishing new patterns of behavior, increasing goodwill, and working together for the best interests of the children," says Mary Ann, who finds satisfaction in seeing parents turn "sniping" behavior into cooperative behavior.
The 16-hour course meets for 8 weeks on Mondays, and is run as waiting lists fill. The course may be arranged on a private basis by agreement of the teachers.
